We are currently seeking a IT Inventory Manager to join our team in Norfolk, Virginia (US-VA), United States (US).

Position's General Duties and Tasks:

As the organization’s Inventory Control Manager, you will oversee cradle-to-grave management and technical expertise for approximately 8,000 IT assets, ensuring full visibility and accountability. You will serve as the primary IT asset management point of contact, providing training, daily communications, process oversight, and technical guidance to Command/Directorate Asset Managers (C/DITAM) and Equipment Custodians (EC). You will manage the Defense Property and Accountability System (DPAS), maintain an updated roster of Directorate ITAMs and ECs within three business days of changes, and support initial, cyclic, and annual IT asset inventories, resolving discrepancies within five days.

You will manage IT asset storage facilities, including warehouse access, asset movement, organization, and status reporting. Additionally, you will support the development of ITAM policies, procedures, and training materials, assist with Financial Liability for Government Property processes for lost or damaged assets, and collaborate with the Program Analyst to set and monitor inventory thresholds. You will prepare inoperable IT equipment for turn-in, ensuring proper media handling per USTCI 33-16 and DoDI 5000.64, and maintain activity logs. Monthly warehouse inventory reports and regular physical inventories will be conducted, with discrepancies reported promptly. You will drive continuous improvement in ITAM data collection, engaging the IT Team and ECs to meet deadlines effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Primary IT asset management point of contact across the organization, providing initial and recurring training, daily communications, process management, technical advice, and audit controls to Command/Directorate Asset Managers (C/DITAM) and Equipment Custodians (EC).
• Primary technical manager and point of contact for designated command ITAM system of record, DPAS.
• Maintain a current listing of all Directorate ITAMs (DITAM) and Equipment Custodians (EC) and ensure updates are completed within three (3) business days after changes occur.
• Support DITAM and ECs initial, cyclic, and annual physical inventories of all accountable ITAM hardware assets as requested. Fix any discrepancies within five (5) calendar days.
• Provide inventory information to the Government based on prevailing ITAM policies, instructions, and when directed.
• Primary manager of IT asset storage facilities, to include warehouse storage facilities. Responsibilities include storage/warehouse access control, asset movement and transfer, organization and storage procedures and execution, and warehouse status reporting. Provide procedures for shipping, disposal, and requesting assets from the warehouse.
• Provide monthly warehouse equipment inventory reports and conduct regular physical inventories, reporting discrepancies promptly.
• Technical and direct support for ITAM developing and updating ITAM policies, instructions, procedures, processes, and training products.
• Support the government’s Financial Liability for Government Property processes when IT assets are lost, stolen, or damaged.
• In coordination with the acquisitions act as the command’s focal point for receiving and disposing of all ITAM assets.
• Assist with the Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services (DLADS) actions for IT equipment per guidance.
• Work with the Program Analyst to establish inventory reorder thresholds and quantities and inform the Government if established equipment inventory thresholds have been reached.
• The ITAM Specialist shall manage preparation of inoperable or lifecycle depleted IT equipment for turn-in. The ITAM Specialist shall manage removal of magnetic media, degauss media IAW degaussing device manufacturer directions, and wipe media IAW USTCI 33-16 and DoDI 5000.64. The contractor shall perform activities which may include tracking degaussing/wiping activities in a log; and transferring them to the Inventory Control Team for disposition.
• As the ITAM Specialist, you must serve as champion for constantly improving ITAM data collection and delivery to the Government. Be proactive in alerting, engaging, and educating the larger IT Contractor Team and Command EC’s to better ways of collecting inventory and consistently meeting deadlines.

Basic Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in related discipline or 2 additional years of relevant experience. 
• Minimum 3 years of experience in IT-related inventory control 
• Minimum 3 years experience in Defense Property Asset Management System (DPAS)
• Minimum 2 years of experience with Microsoft Office products. 
• Active Secret clearance, eligible for TS/SCI upgrade.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a Tier 2 Computer Technician role

Exceptional communication skills, capable of interacting effectively with military, civilian, and contractor personnel.

A proactive and outgoing personality.

Unwavering attention to detail, ensuring both IT assets and technical support functions operate seamlessly.
