Career Transitions is working with a high growth, industry leader located in Elkhart. They have an opening on their team for a Controller.

This Controller combines technical accounting expertise with strategic financial management to ensure the company's fiscal health and support decision-making.
Key responsibilities include managing financial reporting and analysis, leading budgeting and forecasting processes, establishing internal controls, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic financial insights to senior management.

The controller also oversees the accounting team, implements process improvements, and collaborates with other departments to enhance financial awareness across the organization.

Controller Responsibilities:

• Financial Management and Reporting
  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Strategic Financial Planning
  • Lead the budgeting process and work with department heads to develop realistic financial plans.
  • Create cash flow projections and financial models to support strategic decision-making.

• Team Leadership and Process Improvement
  • Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and implement technology solutions.

• Specialized Industry Knowledge
  • Oversee financial aspects of inventory management, including valuation and turnover analysis.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to optimize payment terms with international suppliers.

Controller Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred but not required.
• 7 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.
• 3 years in a management role.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with international trade finance and import/export operations.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities to effectively manage teams and interact with senior leadership.
